Lot 151 Variance
Posting this here as the discussion on the Facebook group seems to have been partially removed and to get an official response from the HOA board. 7113 Olympus Way (Lot 151) applied for a variance with the county to install a "27' wide crushed rock driveway for access to proposed 2 car garage" that violates the counties setback rules. The driveway does not concern me, it is the building of a 2 car garage well within the Snowline setback rules that concerns me. The drawings show a garage as large as the house constructed within 5' of the property line. This is in direct violation of the Snowline Covenants that state "no building structure shall be constructed, placed or maintained less than 20 feet from the property line abutting any street or road." I can understand a few feet of wiggle room here, but 15' of grace for a structure as large as the original house is asking a lot. From the abbreviated drawings shown on the county website it looks like a 2nd house on the lot.
It was brought to the Facebook group's attention that the owner of the lot is on the HOA board. We have already seen multiple violations of Snowline Covenants regarding building restrictions by current board members. I think it is only fair for a transparent discussion before this project is approved by the board.
Christina, Thanks for pointing out that I am the only project getting fined. Reinforces my point exactly. I have bent over backwards to attempt to hit their moving targets and get fined either way. Our project has had a target on it from day 1. I won't get into the details here but I'd be happy to chat with you in person if you need caught up.
